Erik van Wyk and Ogilvy have won Gold in the TV category for the BP 2010 Campaign titled “SA United”. The campaign for 2010 which focuses on several unique groups to South Africa such as Divas vs taxi drivers, Café owners vs mamas, car guards vs boytjies all playing football against each other with the tag line that has a double meaning of prepping for 2010 but also advocating that there is also a life BEYOND 2010. According to Executive Producers Melina and Lorraine at Bouffant,
“Erik wanted to give these ads the crediblity of real football matches – from the camera language all the way to the supporters he played into the groups portrayed. He also wanted to avoid a heavy handed humour favouring the layering of the jokes to capitalise on multiple viewings.” Melina McDonald goes on to say “The agency were fantastic to work with in allowing the creative process to unfold naturally.”
