Jono Hall

Bio

Being slightly overwhelmed by the limitless options available to him out of school, Jono Hall decided to be a taxidermist.

He doesn’t regret this decision. It was a lot of fun, he got to meet some interesting people (some alive), and he now has enough dinner party conversation to last him until the end of time.

Jono then made the move to study Directing for Film at AFDA which led to him taking up a position as a researcher. In that time Jono shot a number of music videos, completed several documentaries, won a film-making competition or two and wrote a Direct-to-DVD horror film starring Lori Petty (and Colin Moss) that will probably only ever be released in Mexico.

After a few years of working alongside directors such as Erik Van Wyk and Dean Blumberg, Jono officially joined Fringe. Where he finally fulfilled that expectation of being a Director To Watch – and for the last two years has been directing campaigns for Nedbank, Investec, Toyota, Defy, SABMiller, Capitec Bank, Apple, Absa.

In between all of this, Jono has always cooked and fed things to people, and written about doing so. People seem to like it, so he doesn’t think he’ll be stopping any time soon.
