Bio

After reading engineering aimed at designing robots, and drumming for a few art school bands, Erik entered the world of fashion photography. A fascination with the moving image soon saw him experimenting with cinematography, writing/directing short films and coming up with ideas for commercials. This landed him a job in the creative department of hot shop TBWA Hunt Lascaris where he made a name for himself as an award winning creative. It was here that he found the support, in the form of legendary ECD John Hunt, to start directing.

Erik’s rise to success was kick started when he was chosen as one of 20 directors out of 600 to participate in the prestigious Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase screened at Cannes. He was also ranked by Boards as one of the top 5 new directors worldwide.

Since then Erik has created commercials for a diverse range of brands including Honda, Cadbury’s and Canon.

Erik is based in London, but seems to spend all his time shooting in Cape Town.
