Bio

Erik has become internationally recognised for his ability to combine cinematic aesthetic with character driven narrative.

He started his career at original hot shop agency TBWA Hunt Lascaris, where he made a name for himself as an award-winning creative and where he found the impetus to direct through legendary Creative Director John Hunt. Erik’s very first film, MTN ‘Cricket’, saw him win Gold as well as Craft for Direction at the Loeries, to date a record for a first-time director.

His rise to success was kick-started when he was chosen as one of 20 out of 600 international directors to participate in the prestigious ‘Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase’ screened at Cannes. Boards Magazine ranked him as one of the top 5 new directors worldwide.

Erik continues to create some of the world’s most memorable commercials for a diverse range of brands including Honda, Volkswagen and Cadburys and has been featured in all the leading creative publications such as Creativity, Luther’s Archive, Shots and Campaign whilst picking up a slew of awards on the way.

Life before directing included University reading Engineering and Robotics, drumming for a few art school bands and a spell in fashion photography.
